Shooting photographs in the city you spend most of your day in can be very hard. You’re too familiar with most of the sights and places, and the curiousity for discovery isn’t as pronounced as in places you’ve never been before. However, sometimes the unexpected snapshots deliver surprising results.
I love shooting scenes by the water. Coasts, riversides, boats. And I love Kodak Tri-X. The contrast and the monochrome character of the images, the think emulsion on the film… offer such a big amount of depth to the dynamic range in reflected waters, and the shadows thrown by boats or bywalkers.
